Okay, this is what I don't get about Socialists: Obama was asked in an interview by George Stephanopoulos about why he wanted to raise the Capital Gains tax when it looks like we might be headed for a recession. He said he probably wouldn't raise it if we were in a recession. So he admits that raising taxes is bad for the economy but he would still do it in the interest of "fairness". It just doesn't make sense. It sounds like his solutions is not to make the poor richer, but to make the rich poorer. Does he think there is a finite amount of money out there? That's obviously not the case since the government keeps finding money for entitlements and bailouts - but I digress.
I'm tired of all the blame that is put on the rich. I'm sure the majority of them got that way after working hard. My husband and I started out poor newlywed college students, everybody has to start somewhere. But most people go to school and work hard to earn more money. There will always be poor people because there will always be college students, newlyweds, or immigrants, people who are just starting out. I think the fair thing to do would be for government to get out of the way of our prosperity, we've earned it after going to school for so many years and learning new skills on the job so we can earn more money for our families.
